I was provided a “maintenance schedule” when I purchased the vehicle and was told everything on the schedule was included through 20K miles. My sales representative told me “Volkswagen doesn’t want you to pay for anything except gas” I learned that the only thing included was the oil change after arriving to the service department. I approached the sales representative that I worked with and he pulled up the information and told me it should be covered. I met with the person that finalized my paperwork and was told that only “scheduled maintenance” was covered, which was an oil change only. According to the “maintenance schedule” I was given oil change and tire rotation are at 10,000 miles and at 20,000 miles oil change, tire rotation, front end alignment, and cabin filters are due. This was very misleading information given to me at the time that I purchased a vehicle costing over $55,000! I purchased 10 additional oil changes and 10 tire rotations that is only available at Dixon Ford/Volkswagen while under the impression that I wouldn’t need to use them until 30,000. I used one of my “already purchased” tire rotations. I feel like I should be getting what I was told at the time of my purchase! My boyfriend was with me when I purchased it and heard the same exact thing. Also, if the services aren’t what is recommended by the manufacturer for scheduled maintenance, then you shouldn’t be giving customers a “maintenance schedule” that is different than the manufacturer recommendations.

The salesman, Nathan Robbins, gave me the feeling that he wasn't honest and I feel that VW has put us in a no-win position. My husband was at the service department the day before and was told our car, 2022 Tiguan R-line SEL, needed a part that was back-ordered 6 months, and we shouldn't drive it. We have 800 miles of the 50,000-mile warranty left. This information has put us in a difficult position. Nathan told my husband that VW was running 2 incentive programs and 0% interest on new vehicles. When we returned to the dealership the next day, Nathan wrote up the paperwork with no mention of any incentives and $3,000 off of the trade-in value, $500 for each month it would sit on the lot waiting for the back-ordered part. I stated that I didn't think this was fair because VW doesn't have the part, and my car is still under warranty. I said, "What if the part comes in early?" He just shrugged his shoulders and said, "oh well". When I mentioned my husband said there was incentives, Nathan then remembered and gave us $500 off. Why did I have to ask for it? I ask him to treat me right and he came up with a paper that says if the part comes in early, they will cut us a check for the remaining depreciation. I know this was just a gestured to shut me up and I am at their mercy to be honest with me. Overall, I felt that Nathan was shady and we were stuck in a no-win situation. We have dealt with Dixon VW since 2012 when we bought our Jetta TDI. We loved that car and were sad when it was recalled. I was extremely happy with the 2022 Tiguan as well. This whole experience has changed my opinion of VW and especial the Dixon dealership. We were put in a no-win position by your company and felt Dixon VW wasn't going to compromise on anything.
